This section includes information on symptoms and conditions associated with mental health problems. Throughout the section the ten signs are referred to. For each condition or cause, if the sign is faded (as in the image on the left) the symbol is not applicable. If it is in full colour (as on the right) then it is.
These signs are used as a quick reference guide, and to organise the section in a coherent way. The signs are used with permission from In this section you can find the following pages: General symptoms of mental health problems, explained using the ten signs
More detailed fact sheets about three issues not specific to any one mental health problem: panic attacks, deliberate self-harm, and suicide and attempted suicide
Information on general causes of mental health problems, with additional detailed pages on abuse and bullying
Fact sheets on a number of conditions:
Each page is laid out using headings of "What is it?", "How common is it?", "What age range does it affect?", "Other information", "Symptoms", and "Regular Causes".
Although the information provided here on each condition describes their more severe forms, it is important to recognise that the conditions themselves may be experienced in a lesser form by significantly more people.
